Thank you for your interest in becoming a patient at Bassett Physical Therapy. Our goal is to make you feel like a part of the family. We understand that therapy can sometimes be overwhelming when getting started.  To help, we have put together a list of items you will need to bring with you to your first appointment.  Please remember to bring your therapy prescription from your doctor, your health insurance card, a photo I.D., a list of any medications you are currently taking, and come dressed in comfortable clothing. Please feel free to contact us before your appointment if you have any questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your first visit will normally last about one hour. Your therapist will provide a thorough evaluation and initial treatment. We do ask that you arrive at least 15-20 minutes early for your first appointment, to ensure we have ample time to complete your admission into Bassett PT.

Most therapy treatments are covered by health insurance. We will assist you in determining the amount of your insurance coverage as well as the frequency of treatments. We participate with Medicare, Medicaid, and most commercial carriers, in addition to workers compensation.  Click here to see a list of the insurances we accept.

Our front office staff will review your insurance policy coverage with you on your first visit and provide you with a “Patient Responsibility Estimate” which will outline what we expect your out of pocket costs may be. If you have questions after receiving a bill from us, you may call us at 276-622-3636, option 3.

When Discharged from Bassett PT, you will have a complete list of discharge instructions including a home exercise program that will help you stay on track. We are always happy to answer post discharge questions with any of our former patients, just give us a call.

Typically, each therapy session will last about one hour.

This is based on many pieces of information that your therapist will decide upon during your initial visit. As your treatment begins your therapist continually re-evaluates your progress and helps make any changes that are needed to help you achieve your goals.

We are committed to timely and clear communication to your referring physician. Initially, we send your physician a copy of your Evaluation. As your therapy continues we will send progress reports throughout your therapy program. If there are any concerns out of the ordinary we will reach out and communicate with your physician directly. We value good communication and believe it is the cornerstone of the teamwork approach.

Once you meet your therapy goals, you will be be ready for discharge. As you are reaching your therapy goals, you and your therapist will begin working on your discharge plan. Your plan will be designed to be completed at home and will help you maintain any progress you have made while in therapy. We will also send a copy of your discharge results to your referring physician.

Therapy is the treatment option of choice for many conditions but there is no guarantee that you will recover 100% of the time. There are many reasons that could limit your overall outcome such as, how long you have been injured, age, and multiple medical problems that reduce your healing capabilities. There is, however, much research that clearly supports therapy as a highly effective treatment option. At BPT, our clinical staff are highly trained, skilled and licensed professionals who have a proven track record of success. Our clients give us a 97.36% overall satisfaction upon completing therapy. If by chance, we feel that therapy is not working for you, your therapist will advocate for the best option to help you find relief.
